Marloes Heineke (47) is a self-taught documentary and portrait photographer. Working in photography since 1999 as a photo editor, currently at NRC and Het Parool as a freelancer.
After winning a digital camera from the Volkskrant Magazine in 2008, she started photographing herself and her daughter (then 7). The self-portrait she made with her daughter was nominated for the Avrotros photo competition in 2014 and was
on show in the Museum Beeld en Geluid.
Since then, she has chased her now 20-year-old daughter Leila with her camera and a collaboration has emerged that shows an intense connection between mother and daughter as well as the sitter and the photographer. The photos show the growth that both Leila as the photographer experiences. She is also working on another long series about her father and family and their living environment in the Betuwe, in the bedding of the Waal river which often floods.
